COHA Translational Research Immersion Program (TRIP)

One HealthCOHA HELD OUR THIRD TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH IMMERSION PROGRAM (TRIP2022) FOR EARLY CAREER VETERINARY FACULTY.

TRIP2022 was held on September 23-25th 2022 at the Fluno Center on the UW-Madison campus. The goal of TRIP is to provide talented early career veterinary faculty with the skills to launch a focused research program that addresses clinical problems in veterinary species and incorporates spontaneous animal models of human disease.

TRIP2022 was attended by 69 veterinary clinician scientists from 25 institutions, and included sessions on Creating protected time for research, Crafting research aims and highlighting impact, Writing foundation grants, Collaborating across disciplines, Managing a research team, Manuscript writing, Persistence and resilience, and panels of successful veterinary clinician scientists with advice on growing a research program, K-awards, the promotion pathway.

TRIP2022 attendees will be offered individualized grant coaching in 2023. COHA will also offer a monthly Specific Aims Club in 2023 to any early career veterinary faculty members that want assistance with crafting research aims.
