CLINICIAN SCIENTIST TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR VETERINARY RESIDENTS

The goal of this workshop is to provide entry-level skills in designing veterinary clinical research studies.

This one-and-a-half day short course is aimed at veterinary residents in any clinical specialty and is sponsored in part by the AAVC and the ACVIM.

The 2025 Clinician Scientist Training Workshop will be held on October 25-26, 2025 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with videoconferencing to residents at more than 20 other institutions. Topics include developing research aims, choosing a study design and appropriate statistical tests, dealing with sample size and recruitment, creating foundation grants, presenting research abstracts and posters, and writing a manuscript.

Institutions can register as a videoconference site if they are not within driving distance of UW-Madison, have at least 5 residents interested in attending, and have a designated faculty mentor for the Saturday and Sunday sessions. Institutional registration is $500 per site. For more information, contact Dr. Starr Cameron at starr.cameron@wisc.edu
